"Very recently I received my GED at age 48. I have successfully completed 3 semesters here at Sage College and I am doing my internship at The Moreno Valley Superior Court House. They said they hired me based on an impressive resume. This to me is a great accomplishment. I have been a food server for the past 30 years and was always looked down on and/or judged by the fact that I was a "waitress" To be told that I am professional and impressive is a great feeling. I know I am smart and will go far regardless of my age. Never say "never" and don't give up on your goals. (I look forward to the day when I will give my boss at the restaurant my two week notice)." - Nicole Johnson
"I have been very pleased with Sage College and I am more than halfway through towards obtaining my AA in Paralegal studies. As a single mom who works full time, it has been exciting and fulfilling to get back into school and excel with my studies. I especially could not have done it without the support of family and of course the Sage College administration! They have been wonderful and all of my instructors are considerate of time constraints and make an effort if you are struggling with a class. I am already working in a law office and feel proud of my accomplishments!" - Crystal T., San Diego/Online Paralegal Program
"San Diego Legal Secretaries Association (SDLSA) has had the opportunity to develop a wonderful working relationship with Sage College. Over the past few years we have run into Sage personnel at local high school career fairs, had the honor of awarding three SDLSA/LSI scholarships to Sage students, and enjoyed their company at our local membership events. On my recent visit to the campus, Karen Jackson was kind enough to give me a tour which included viewing the student work areas, a demonstration of using a steno-type machine, and seeing the very cool set up they have for their students to practice transcribing depositions and court proceedings in a real-life setting. I was very impressed with their beautiful campus and the close-knit atmosphere. In addition, Sage College has been so kind as to allow our organization to use their facilities for the presentation of our Saturday Seminar events, for which SDLSA is so grateful. SDLSA hopes to continue to build on its relationship with Sage College." - Linda Gubba-Reiner, Director, Scholarship Chair, San Diego Legal Secretaries Association
"Van Deusen Reporting has been in business now for two generations. So over the years we have had many court reporters working for us. It has always been my job to train new reporters and get them ready to work out there in the deposition world.
"Thank you, Lauren, Sharon, and all of the great instructors and faculty. We as students will owe a huge part of future success to all of you. You all have my sincerest appreciation for the many hours that you all put in in helping us reach for the stars." - Michael McMorran, Sage College San Diego Student
"It is especially noteworthy that the Sage College staff took extremely good care of our San Diego qualified group during the California State exam process. The testing experience is always a tough one, but the Sage staff gave us their all to help us feel confident and prepared. The administrators and staff, from the day of our graduation send-off through the final hugs and tears once the exam was completed, gave us not only thorough exam preparation and extra instructor hours, but also a lot of practical help (how do I pack my suitcase again?) and even emotional support and advice when that was needed. They were there every single step of the way. - Diane Bradley, December, 2011
"Deciding to return to school was a difficult decision. I knew that being employed full time and living in a rural area, enrolling in an online program was my only option. After comparing several online schools, I decided that Sage College offered the most concise and well-rounded program. From the nitty-gritty details of financial aid, to a schedule tailored just for me, the staff at Sage College made my enrollment easy. Sage College does an outstanding job of bridging the gap in distance learning. Even though I am an East Coast student, I feel connected to my classes and the staff. Although my classmates are sprinkled around the nation, Sage College fosters peer relationships and camaraderie. My experience has been nothing short of extraordinary. Success of an online program not only takes great discipline on the part of the student, but it also requires unfailing support from the college. Sage College offers that support in numerous ways; during weekly chat sessions, discussion forums, telephone and email, you never feel alone or isolated. It is said that every end has a beginning. I was stuck in a dead end place; Sage College is my beginning. Let it be yours." - Carolyn Mulderig

What did you love about Sage College? "It was a combination of all the interview advice Sage instructors provided, my interpretation and use of that advice, and the programs and classes Sage offered that prepared me for this job opportunity. I am truly grateful." - Gabriela Martin, Paralegal student who landed a full-time court position while still in school
"Every quarter I participate in the general student orientation for both day and evening students. This year, Admissions wanted to try something a little different by stopping in to say a few words to the new students since they probably are the most friendly and familiar faces to them. I am grateful and proud to have been present when Tiana walked into the evening CR students orientation to speak to them. Evening students are special because most of them have jobs – and probably families – so by the time they arrive here, they have already put in a full day. Tiana told them how proud she was of all of them, understanding the sacrifice all of them were making to pursue educations and better themselves. It was short & sweet and very sincere. It looked as though people all over the room were trying to hold back their tears. I was definitely trying not to cry because seeing her effect on the students was an emotional moment.
"To whom it may concern: My name is Aliya Farah. I am a student at Sage College, San Diego campus. I am writing to show my appreciation for the wonderful education I am receiving as well as to say thank you to the staff for their support during a difficult time. I am honestly blown away by what a great job they are doing as administrators, staff, teachers, and just as kind and concerned human beings. First of all, the court reporting profession is an incredible one, and I know I am getting an excellent education that is preparing me for this line of work. I am extremely proud to say that I am a student at Sage. I have learned a great deal from the teachers who are encouraging, excited about what they teach, and who have a genuine interest in seeing us succeed. What is especially nice is that this is a serious program that allows us to learn the highly-specialized skill of stenography yet there is a personal feel to the school. You never feel like a face in a crowd or just a number. The teachers are always available to you for any questions you may have or to sit with you and help you on anything that you need to pay extra attention to... ...Thank you again for showing such professionalism while still having that sensitivity to peoples' circumstances. This balance is what makes this school the best in my book." - Aliya Farah
"I am so lucky that I had the opportunity to attend Sage College! The staff is so supportive and encouraging. It is a tough program to get through, so it is really important to surround yourself with a staff like you will find at Sage. These guys will have your back! One of the best things about Sage is how prepared you will feel when you go take the state exam. We all felt so confident walking out of that exam, while students from other schools looked doubtful. And what do you know? Our entire group passed the exam! I promise you, Sage will fully prepare you for the exam and entering the field of court reporting." - Vikki Coughlin
"I wanted to let you both know that I have just been offered a job as a Legal Processing Assistant with the Superior Courthouse in Rancho Cucamonga. I start February 14, 2011 and am very excited! The job offers many opportunities for advancement and I hope to put the education you have imparted to me to good use; I will make you proud and will always be grateful to Sage for everything. Anyway, I'll stop rambling now. :) Thank you does not seem to be enough, but it is all I can say." - Gabriela Martin
"What I love most about Sage is that from the moment that you go through the orientation process, you are welcomed into a tight-knit family. The entire staff is always there to answer any questions you may have as a student. Sage provides every student with the tools need to succeed as a court reporter from the first day of Theory all the way to Qualifiers. Never once have I been turned away for a question and am usually provided with far more information than I had originally expected to receive. I love the fact that I walk in every morning to smiling faces and positive attitudes both from the faculty and the student body. When I pass the CSR, it will be a bittersweet feeling as the very idea of not coming to Sage everyday disheartens me greatly. I am truly appreciate of my administrative staff, my instructors and my peers. GO SAGE!!!" - Mike McMorran
"I am very proud to say that I am a graduate of Sage College. This school is unlike any school I have attended before. Aside from my family and friends, the teachers at Sage College were my biggest cheerleaders. They always knew how to keep me disciplined and motivated in my attempt to advance in speed. I feel that Sage College provided me with the knowledge, skill set, and confidence that has made me a successful court reporter." - Kristine Croswell, CSR #13552
"I'm very pleased with my choice of Sage College for my court reporting education. Sage offers a great balance between flexibility and academic support. The online setting allows me to set my own schedule and learn at my own pace, but I also know that the teachers and the other students are always there to keep me focused and motivated. Enrolling in Sage College has been my first step towards a successful court reporting career!" - Carrie Meathrell
"My decision to leave "X" College and to enroll at Sage came after months of feeling frustrated and bored at "X". Here are a few of the things that pushed me to make my final decision to leave. Lack of new material on RTC - We were required to spend a certain number of hours per week on RTC but with the lack of new material, I found myself feeling bored and unmotivated. During the time I spent at "X", the RTC material was never updated. Percentages needed to pass speed tests - I am not one to slack, but the strickness of their 99% passing rate made it very difficult to pass tests and move up into the higher speeds. In addition, tests were never reviewed with us on a weekly basis, therefore, we were not learning from our mistakes. Our tests were not returned to us so that we could see our errors. The only way we could review our tests was to set up a time to speak to our instructors, which was sometimes difficult to coordinate. We also were not given the chance to learn from others mistakes. Sage gives us that opportunity. Academics - For online students, the academic classes we had to participate in in the evening were very difficult. Sitting in front of your computer for two hours with the headphones on learning about grammar or legal terminology at 9:00 at night, was extremely difficult. Sage offers us the chance to log on for our academic work at our convenience, which I love! A sense of connection with the school/staff - At Sage I feel cared for. Every single person I have come in contact with either over the phone or in person at Sage has been extremely helpful and kind. I feel the instructors truly care about our progress and are our biggest cheerleaders. Every concern, problem, frustration, or email is address promptly and cheerfully. My biggest regret is that I didn't switch over to Sage years ago. I truly feel I would have been close to finishing school if I had." - Lisa Brinton
