1. Court Reporting - Associate Degree or Diploma Online or On Campus

Court reporting careers offer a flexible schedule, excellent salary and opportunities in a rapidly growing field. In fact, the U.S. Department of Labor projects an 18% increase in demand for Court Reporters through the year 2018. The average national annual salary is $62,000 according to the National Court Reporters Association and salaries can top out at $100,000 a year, according to Forbes Magazine.

Court Reporters (sometimes called court recorders or court stenographers) are trained to "write" in excess of 200 words per minute on a stenotype machine while completing a specialized academic curriculum. A Certified Court Reporter is licensed to record verbatim testimony at various legal proceedings.

The academic and speedbuilding courses at Sage College were developed to provide the educational skills and knowledge essential to the court reporting profession and related fields. Students are trained to “write” in excess of 200 wpm on a stenotype machine and complete a specialized academic curriculum. At the completion of the program, students are qualified to take verbatim testimony for any of the following: actual court trials, pretrial hearings, closed captioning, conferences, rapid data entry, depositions, meetings, conventions, and medical transcribing.

2. Paralegal Studies - Associate Degree or Diploma Online and Moreno Valley Campus Only

The Paralegal Studies program at Sage College was created to provide courses leading to the educational skills and knowledge essential to work as a Paralegal or Legal Office Assistant. At the completion of the program, the student will have the knowledge and skills required to seek employment as an entry-level legal professional.

Proficiencies in areas directly related to the paralegal profession will be taught as well as courses that develop a well-rounded foundation for the professional legal environment.

Under the supervision of an attorney, graduates will be qualified to prepare correspondence and legal papers such as summonses, complaints, motions, and subpoenas. Graduates will also be qualified to assist with legal research and discovery as well as many other functions of the fast-paced legal environment.

As an entry-level paralegal/legal office professional, employment can be sought in the private, government or corporate professional legal environments.

The curriculum ensures the fulfillment of the mission, philosophy, and objectives.
